Married Life

Marriage means sacrifice. If you adore your smooth soft hands, perhaps married life is not for you. You'll have to scrub and clean plates, clothes, floors and cars. That's married life. Yes, you could get someone else to do it for you, but it would cost you money. And money doesn't come cheap these days, so why not do it yourself? Yes, you could complain that you are slaving away cleaning all those things. But shouldn't you be grateful that you have those things to clean?

Be grateful. Gratefulness helps put things in perspective. Why do so many marriages end in divorce? Part of it is an unjustified sense of entitlement: after marriage, they expect to spend more, to enjoy life more, to live like the TV shows. In truth, every family is different, and the struggles they go through are part and parcel of the joys that they will enjoy in the future. Gratefulness helps us to appreciate the fact that there is a bubbly baby in the house, despite the need to wash his bum and clean up when he vomits.

Be positive. Trust that things will work out for the best.
